HISTORY: Aster House has been renting since 1891 (yes!) and under the present owners since 1982. We've had guests stay as long as 9 years and return as long as for 18 years, so being that well-established and with that kind of loyalty you may be assured of a pleasant stay -- in fact, most of our tenants are referrals or repeats!

NEIGHBORHOOD: Aster House is at 1020 W Altgeld, on a quiet residential street in Lincoln Park, what many feel is Chicago's most desirable downtown neighborhood. Please note that the close proximity to our neighbors necessitates that our tenants be quietly respectful, so we do not accept guests who plan to party here, as they would be asked to leave.

~Within 1/2 to 2 blocks are restaurants, cafes, pizzerias, bakeries, Whole Foods, sports bars, fine and resale shops, a park out back with free tennis courts, theatres, art galleries, museums, diverse music venues, the post office, public library, dry cleaners, banks, day spas, hair and nail salons, upscale barbers, a late-night pharmacy, Redbox, and DePaul University. For any late nights or jet lag there are a 24-hour diner, 24-hour Vietnamese, 5 am pizzerias and a 3 am bakery-- which deliver!
~ Within 2 - 10 blocks are 2 multi-screen movie houses, 2 comedy clubs, health clubs, Lincoln Park, more pocket parks, Starbucks, 2 farmers' markets May 1 - Oct 31, the year-round free city zoo and botanical gardens, the lake/Fullerton beach with its 18-mile biking/running path, hospitals, and necessities e.g. Best Buy, Target, Trader Joe, Barnes & Noble, TJMaxx, Anthropologie, etc. Wrigley Field is 10 blocks straight up the street.

TRANSPORTATION: We're 1 block from the Fullerton subway/el station (Red, Brown, Purple lines). There also are frequent taxicabs, lots of Uber/Lyft vehicles cruising. 2 city bicycle rental stations and 4 buses to reach the rest of the city. We are 1 mile from Lakeshore Drive and Routes 90/94 for easy driving access.

THE HOUSE: Built in 1891, this totally updated Victorian-style house has a back yard, covered porch with rockers, and spacious sundeck with umbrella table, chaises, chairs, charcoal grill.

THE APARTMENT: *Bella's Duplex*, ~3000 sq. ft self-serve 4-bedroom/2 bath duplex

> Bathroom 1: shower over a deep soaking tub, unique sink/vanity, shelving, linen closet
One flight up from street level, 10' ceilings, individual air conditioners :
> Deluxe kitchen: SubZero refrigerator, dishwasher, 4-burner range, microwave, disposal,
toaster oven, blender, coffee maker, antique oak hutch filled with fine china
> Sunny dining nook: seats 4, overlooking the garden
> Mud room off kitchen
> Front entrance and private rear entrance

Two flights up from street level, 12' ceilings, central air conditioning:
> Laundry/storage room: free personal over-sized washer and dryer, storage shelves
> Balcony: entered via French doors, screened-in with bistro set, glider
> Bedroom 3: queen bed, love seat, 10' long dresser /desk, large closet, TV /DVD, mini-fridge, bamboo floors (Note that this room has no actual door, but is hidden behind a 6-panel Chinese screen -- and thick terry bathrobes are provided for all Bella guests.)
> Bedroom 4: queen bed with carved head and foot boards, mirrored dresser, 3-door armoire, 2 night tables. 2 chairs, 2 closets, wall-to-wall carpeting and entered via tall antique French etched glass doors
> Bathroom 2: entered via beveled-glass doors, double sinks, 75-gallon tub/shower, marble

> Cable television on 2 flatscreen TVs, a third non-cable TV, 2 DVD players
> Land-line phone for free local calls
> Guest-controlled air conditioning
> Free en-suite personal laundry
> Heat, hot and cold water
> Storage

Tenants pay for their own electric use. And all bedding, towels, kitchenware, iron, hair dryers, etc are provided -- just bring your toothbrushes! :)

PARKING: A vehicle is not necessary here, but if you have one with you, street parking is easy to find and we'll explain the local parking rules. A single spot in the garage right out the back door is $215/month, and shared with just the owners.

MISCELLANEOUS: The house is strictly NON-SMOKING, though ashtrays are provided on t porch and sundeck. And so sorry, but no pets. Upon arrival, we give our guests a tour of their apartment, an explanation of where to find places in the neighborhood, and how to get where they need -- as well as having the first morning's breakfast in the fridge!
